A Little History & the Future For Those Who Are Interested
RemoteHams.com was registered on 2006-09-30.
In 2007, the very first version of RemoteHams.com became available. The first online radio list was developed allowing users of Ham Radio Deluxe and Shortwave Log to publish their radios online. The RemoteHams webserver itself controlled the radios using PHP and Sockets.
In 2008, the webserver was experiencing too much CPU usage. To solve the problem, RCF-beta was developed. RCF-beta was based off the PHP scripts used on RemoteHams for generating a web based display for a radio.
In 2009, RCF-beta stablized and was renamed to RCF-php. Development on a new concept behind RemoteHams.com starts (RCF v2.0). Nearing the end of 2009 the first beta's of RCF v2.0 were released.
In 2010, RemoteHams.com becomes a completely new system (RCF v2.1 test releases) along with RCF v1.0 support being dropped.
By 2011, RCF v2.1 becomes stable, and RCF v3.0 development starts. Plans to start development on a custom VOIP solution for the RCF package and possibly release the first beta's along with improving direct radio support in RCFserver.
By 2012, go fully public with another new complete stable system (RCF v3.0).
